Hippy
At almost 2 years old, Hippy is full of energy and ALWAYS happy to see you! She is such a petite girl with a HUGE personality. She lives with other dogs at the sanctuary and does great! She doesn’t do well with a fence between her and another dog, though, and leash meetings are frustrating. Leash reactivity is something that can be worked with! She really is fun and will make an AMAZING companion for someone!

Drake
Meet Drake! This handsome guy is 4 1/2 years old and is a boisterous ball of fun! He thinks meeting people is very exciting and is working on not jumping up. Drake has gotten along well with his female “roommate”, and is currently being treated for heartworm. Just look at those eyes. They melt your heart! This boy would love to find an active family to take him home!

Meatloaf
Meatloaf is a big ol’ ham of a pup! (Don’t you love that name?) He loves to give kisses and would love a home to call his own. Meatloaf has a dog roommate that he has been doing well with! He will need a house with a fenced yard as he has previously displayed not-very-acceptable behavior while on leash. He loves people and would definitely love you unconditionally and make your family complete!

Dunk
Dunk is a beautiful boy, the only white on him is the tip of his tail! At just 1 year and 7 months, he is a young guy with lots of playfulness in him—he is ready to entertain and bring joy to your family! Dunk is fully vetted, healthy, and happy, except he needs a loving family to make his life perfect! Come and meet this sweet boy. You WILL fall in love.

Moxie
Moxie is a perfectly sized female terrier mix who is 8 years young! With silky fur and saucer ears, she is such a cutie! She is good with other dogs but, when leashed, is not quite as friendly. Moxie has had multiple surgeries to close a hole in her hard palate (after a bad run-in with a stick) but still has a small opening that causes her to sneeze often but does not affect her quality of life! Meet this girl and fall in love!

Ranger
Meet sweet Ranger! This 6-year-old boy is a happy guy who loves running around with his friends in our yard at the sanctuary. He loves a good game of fetch as well. He’s very affectionate and loves to shower you with kisses. He does love attention and tries to get yours when he can, so he’d probably be best in a home with people who are home more often than not. Frankly, we dont know why this great guy hasn’t been scooped up! Call and meet him!

Edisto
This beautiful male German Shepherd mix is just 3 years old, and she is so pretty! Edisto has a chill personality and did very well when we had her meeting the public at some of our recent community events! Edisto does well on a leash and would love the opportunity to be a valued member of your family! Where are our Shepherd lovers? Go to halliehill.com, fill out an application and come out to the Sanctuary to meet this very pretty girl.

Donny
Look at that sweet face! Donny is just a year old, still a kitten, and is missing his sister, Marie, who found her fur-ever home a few months ago! He is very timid with new people at first (which is why he is still with us), but we have found he warms up quickly and will seek you out when he knows you! Tabbies have the most wonderful personalities, and Donny would make a wonderful addition to your family. Come meet this fur baby and gain his trust!

Jena Jones

Jena Jones

Jena Jones is an animal advocate, Army Veteran, business owner, and want-to-be farmer! Jena has a longstanding history with animal service organizations. She has both volunteered and served in formal roles within 501c3s since 2007. She served as the Director of Development for a therapeutic riding facility and has been a board member of an Arizona rescue and sanctuary for over 10 years. In her time supporting these organizations, she has managed operations, led growth/fundraising efforts, and provided animal care and fostering. She is proud to say that the number of fostered friends is over 60!

Jena still spends every day actively engaged in animal care and animal welfare. It is her single greatest passion and priority. She owns a small farm caring for sanctuary animals, including horses, cows, goats, dogs, and cats. She hopes one day, she can grow up to be a full-time Farmer. Jena splits time between Columbus, NC, and Meggett, South Carolina, just around the corner from Hallie Hill.

Jena founded and serves as CEO of PGT Solutions, a healthcare-focused IT and professional services consulting firm. PGT focuses on support to Veterans and Service Members through improving healthcare and other critical support to them and their families. She first got involved with Hallie Hill when looking for an animal service organization to bring PGT employees to volunteer. Time spent volunteering resulted in a desire to help further the Hallie Hill mission and, naturally, in bringing home a new family member. Nora, the dramatically friendly Anatolian Shepherd, is a Hallie Hill alum and now spends her time exactly how she wishes: watching over her goat babies… in between naps on the couch, of course!

Dr. Jennifer McLaughlin

Dr. Jennifer McLaughlin

Dr. Jennifer McLaughlin has been an integral part of our team since January, having previously volunteered with us. Dr. McLaughlin brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for animal care that has already made a significant impact on our sanctuary.

Originally from Oxford, Ohio, Dr. McLaughlin took an unconventional route to her veterinary career. She first earned a BA in economics from Vanderbilt University and then an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. However, her love for animals led her to pivot in her mid-30s, returning to school to pursue veterinary medicine at Ohio State University. Following her graduation, she spent 30 years practicing small animal medicine at Avery Animal Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. McLaughlin is an enthusiastic hiker and backpacker. Her adventurous spirit has led her on remarkable journeys, including a three-week trek to Everest Base Camp and climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro! Dr. McLaughlin shares her life with her husband, Bob, and their son, Ryan. She is also a proud grandmother to Lenna, with another granddaughter on the way in November. At home,
she cares for two cats, Chihuly and Howard, along with three dogs, Snoop Dogg, Izzy, and Charlie Brown—whom she is fostering from Hallie Hill.

Her strong connection to the sanctuary is evident, and we are grateful for the expertise and compassion she brings to our animals and the Hallie Hill community. Thank you, Dr. McLaughlin, for being a vital part of our team!
