George Aaron was born in Savannah, but fortunately, when he was six weeks old, his family moved to Charleston. He is a veteran and served as a U.S. Navy Corpsman who was stationed at the old Naval Hospital on the Naval Base in Charleston for several months. He was deployed to Vietnam in early 1968, and served in combat operations with a U.S. Marine Corps infantry platoon providing routine and emergency medical care. Following his honorable discharge from the service, he studied Marine Science and graduated from the University of South Carolina. In addition, he earned two degrees in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina, spent several years on the faculty there and practiced as an Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist for 35 years, earning Board Certification and Fellowship status. He returned to live in Charleston for the fifth time in 2012 with his wife Karen. They both have had rescue dogs and cats during their individual lives and together. Currently they live with their rescue lab, Marvelous Maggie in Hollywood, where George serves on the Board of Governors for the Poplar Grove community. He is honored to serve on the Board of Directors for Hallie Hill and loves spending time gardening, listening to music, volunteering as a Master Gardener, playing golf, and serving as a peer mentor with the PGA Hope program for disabled veterans in Charleston.
